Don’t be put off if you don’t ordinarily like the scent or taste of sage. Tea made with the leaves tastes and smells quite different, and is surprisingly comforting. It soothes coughs and colds, is antiseptic and antifungal. Sage tea is very useful for menopausal women as it contains a little oestrogen and the tea eases hot flushes and night sweats.
You will need:
Two large sage leaves per cup or a sprig of young leaves are enough.
Serve it with light, crunchy petites coeurs, or little hearts.
