Oh, those festive left-overs...

Remember when they used to say that throwing left-over food away is sinful? It really is sinful when you could be trying Matty Cremona’s recipes for using up the remains of the Christmas and New Year feasts.

The trouble with turkeys is that they’ve stayed the same size. Meanwhile, families are getting smaller. A dozen people sit round the Christmas lunch table, and there’s this great big bird - enough to feed the household of a medieval castle. How many times can you eat cold turkey with chutney, turkey sandwiches, or turkey curry? By the end of the week, even the dog is sick of turkey, rolling his eyes and begging for dry food instead. Thankfully, the time between Christmas and New Year tends to be slow, with plenty of family members around on the premises. This means they can join in and help make some turkey ravioli.
